I’ve been teaching A-Level Maths for nine years, both in schools and privately. Pure Maths is probably my favourite part of the course, particularly calculus and logarithms. I’m quite methodical in lessons and usually start by finding the exact point where a student has gone off track. Near exams, we spend much more time on full past papers, timing and recognising the little clues hidden in questions.

Hi, I’m a Maths tutor with five years of experience working with A-Level students. I’m especially keen on mechanics, which is often the bit students either love or completely dread! I use plenty of sketches and worked examples before moving onto exam questions. I also keep a running list of mistakes from each lesson, as I’ve found that revisiting those regularly is much more useful than simply doing endless new questions.

Before moving into education, I worked as an engineer, so I tend to teach Maths from a fairly practical angle. I have taught A-Level Maths for over seven years and particularly enjoy mechanics, vectors and calculus. My lessons are structured but conversational; students are expected to explain their reasoning rather than just give me an answer. I’m also quite particular about showing enough working to pick up every available mark.
